The Vantage Storage Lift team has been involved with the manufacturing and sales of above ground two post and four post car lifts for over 30 years.
Customers who have purchased our above ground auto lifts asked us to build a motorized garage storage system with a large platform storage area and a payload weight capacity of more than just a few hundred pounds.
Here are the guidelines we used:
1. Safety features.
We understand that safety is the most important feature of any type of lifting product. When we designed the Vantage Storage Lift, we incorporated several two post above ground lift safety features.
2. Ease of set-up and assembly.
We know that many of our customers will install their own Vantage Storage Lift. The storage lift is shipped in an enclosed wooden crate. The carriage and column have been assembled. All of the electrical wiring has been installed and tested.
After the lift has been anchored, total assembly time (by two mechanically inclined adults) should be between two-three hours.
3. Ease of operation by all family members (18 years minimum age)
The storage platform is raised and lowered by a cable/drum system powered by an electric servo-motor and controlled by a wireless remote.
Two post automotive lifts use pressurized hydraulic oil to create power. Hydraulics is a great way to maximize lifting capabilities, but we wanted to incorporate a non-hydraulic lifting system that was user-friendly and eliminated the chance of a hydraulic oil leak. Our wireless remote can raise and lower the platform from a distance of fifty (50) feet. The upper limit switch can be adjusted to automatically stop the platform at the desired height to prevent taller platform items from hitting the ceiling. There is also a lower limit switch that automatically stops the motor when the platform reaches the floor.
4. Free-standing column
Most motorized ceiling mounted storage lifts require their lift support rails to be anchored to load bearing rafters (ceiling joists). This installation requirement limits the locations as to where their lifts can be installed. The installation and motor synchronization of these overhead ceiling storage systems appears to be complicated. The ceiling mount storage system platforms are small and their payload capacity is only a few hundred pounds.
Attic storage lifts may require substantial structural work to the garage ceiling or attic area where the items are to be stored.
Access to the attic storage lift areas require the customer to climb a ladder to either remove or load items from the motorized platform. Ladders are inconvenient and can be dangerous!
Attic storage lift systems have small platforms with a very limited weight capacity.
The Vantage Storage Lift is freestanding and can be installed in just about any location of the garage. The single column takes up minimum floor space.
The payload capacity is 1500 pounds and there are several LARGE platform sizes from which to choose.
5. Competitive pricing and great value.
We understand the need to offer great pricing for a quality product. The Vantage Storage gives you the ability to create additional storage space at a fraction of the cost of building a new storage garage or storage shed.
Many HOAs and local government entities will not allow “out-buildings” in the neighborhood. In the event that an “out-building” is allowed to be erected, obtaining permits may be a challenge.
Many densely populated areas simply do not have the land available to erect a storage building or shed.
Unlike the attic or ceiling mounting motorized storage systems, the Vantage Storage Lift can be moved to different locations in your current garage or relocated to another garage if you move. The Vantage Storage Lift costs about the same as a new epoxied garage floor.
